Tilly has discovered tuna and oh how she loves it! I've been browsing on the recipe site and have tried a couple of the suggestions, brilliiant, but can someone tell me how much I should let her have and how often? I a bit with her biscuits and it didn't touch the sides ( hers that is, not mine! )

Dougal loves Tuna and it's mixed with some flower and an egg before being microwaved. It comes out like a flat cake which we then cut into small cubes (the recipe is on this site). We use it as treats when training him so he gets about an ounce per day roughly.

Thanks everyone, think I might have over indulged her, no wonder she's been licking her lips!

I use the reciepe PaulR uses but I use macrel in tomato sauce, as he says it makes a flat cake and I cut it up into tiny bits and use it as treats

The only thing i will say about the tuna everyday is to be careful with the amount of excess oil you are giving your dog. If they are on a complete food then this food will have x amount of oils or fats in already. By adding extra everyday, then over time it can build up. Too much fat in the diet can lead to pancreatitis......sorry I always feel as though I am putting a downer of your dogs! Now and again wont hurt though.

The recipe for the tuna bake is one I put together years ago with a friend and it works well. I must say that I now bake it in the oven for 20/25 mins and it is a lot better and not as stodgy. You can vary this recipe with many different things also which is why is it so good to have. Janx

We now have 7 week old pup too, is it safe for him to have tuna ? ( So much to learn.... ! )

Fish4dogs sell a de;ightful Salmon Mousse for dogs, aswell as the variety of dried fish skins, my dogs get these as treats everyday and adore them. I have always fed dogs fish, and have always had very long living dogs in my care. Google fish4dogs. Mine love tuna, salmon oil, mackeral, salmon fillets too. Hope this helps.

tuna in brine is better for them than oil.
