...A homage to a dog, photography and life itself

In Asia's "Year of the dog" the photographer and designer Peter Nitsch has broken with the conventional ways of seeing exemplified by traditional dog photography and places man's best friend as part of a refreshingly new photographic concept as a creature with its own personality and the centre of its own existence. Dogs are too "only human". That is, at least, what is likely to go through your mind when you see "Moneypenny" in these pictures.

Declaration of love

"Moneypenny" is a dog of fascinating vitality and affability - quite simply a typical Parson Jack Russell Terrier. The journalistic style of these black and white pictures shine a spotlight on this lovable character and all the different places she lives in and visits. The pictures build up page for page into a passionate declaration of love for a dog, photography, and life itself.

Background

The key focus of designer Peter Nitsch's work is photographic design. The reductive aesthetic he applies to a wide range of diverse topics constantly engages him in a search for a symbiosis of design and photography. Together with Ploi Malakul he founded "rupa design" and later on "rupa publishing".

Ploi Malakul is also designer and works for clients such as Relais & Chateaux Hotel, Hotel Brandenburger Hof, Berlin. Ploi Malakul has won numerous awards for her work, including from the Art Directors Club.
