Testimonials from Re-homed Jack Russells

Hi Matthew,
I just wanted to say huge thanks for helping me re-home a rescue dog. I had taken Molly from a home where she had been left in the garden 24 hours a day with no shelter as she was no longer wanted. Despite being very nervous with humans and other dogs (she was badly under-socialised) within two weeks she had transformed into a happy and very sociable little dog.
I was sadly unable to keep her as I already have a JRT who is used to being a one-man-dog so I fostered her while looking for a ‘forever home’. I posted her on your site late last week and within 5 days I had four offers for a permanent home, all of whom had carefully checked my requests from the ad. I placed her yesterday with a fantastic family who were overjoyed – their Mum even sent me a picture of her 11 year old asleep on the floor with the dog last night. What amazed me was that I didn’t even get chance to add the photos I had taken, so these wonderful people were just interested in her, not the way she looks (although she is pretty, but I’m biased!).
I would recommend this site to anyone, I think it would be great if some of the rescues/ pounds also listed dogs here as I know hundreds of healthy JRTs are put down by pounds and even rescues like Battersea when no owner can be found. Far better that they find a home with someone who knows and loves these nutty little dogs! Once again, thank you from Molly and us all.
Re-homing one dog may not change the world, but it means the world to one dog!
Warm regards,
Nick

Hi Matthew,
I hope you don't mind me emailing you but have just been browsing your site. I am not seriously looking for any additions to my JRT clan at the moment but always look at your site from time to time. I noticed you have a page dedicated to dogs rescued from your site. Back in August/ September 07 we rescued Angus after seeing that he needed rehoming. Angus was put on your site by a lady named Debi Price and came from Leeds.
I was not sure if you were not informed of the conclusion of our meetings with Angus or if you no longer update the rehomed page but I do think it is good information for people and shows how valuable your website is.
I just wanted to let you know that Angus is happy and settled in his new home and we can't think what it would be like without him now. We got Angus as we wanted a mate for our own JRT Amber. I have attached 2 pictures. Angus is on the right in the picture with the two dogs, Amber on the left The second picture includes my mum's 2 JRT's and from left to right it is Lucy, Tommy, Angus and Amber.
Thanks for your excellent website and helping us find Angus

Just wanted to say that thanks to your fantastic website, I have managed to rehome my Jack Russell, Bob, in just one week. It was a very difficult decision to rehome my lovely friend, but after visiting your site it became much easier. I had quite a few enquiries about him and he has gone to a lovely couple who found him thanks to their son and soon to be daughter in law. The website was a godsend as word of mouth had not come up with a new family for Bob and I was worried about advertising and the wrong people wanting him.
Thanks so much and I wish you all the best.
I just want to say thank you for your wonderful site. We had to re home our russell Alfie when our children became very badly alergic to him. We are all heartbroken and we were worried as to what sort of home he would have.
The family that came to see him traveled a fair distance and are lovely. They all took to Alfie straight away and he to them. Although we still hurt at the loss of him we feel happy that he has found a happy loving home.
Thanks to your site this has been possible.
God bless you.
Ann
Hi Matthew,
I just wanted to drop you a line to say what a great site you have. I had no choice but to find a new home for my Beloved Jack Russell Amber as she was being bullied by my other dog. I came across your site quite by accident but its brilliant. I posted Ambers photo but didnt expect half as many emails as i got.
Some of the emails had lovely stories and all the people seemed genuine. Amber has now been successfully rehomed with a lovely lady who keeps me updated on her progress and send me regular photos etc. It makes me feel so much better knowing she has gone to a lovely family who love her to bits.
None of this would have been possible without your site so i just wanted to say Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
Kind Regards
Karen
The decision to re-home Angus, my JRT, was not one that I came to easily, or took lightly. Angus had been with me since the age of about 11/12 weeks, when he and his littermates (four in total) were left at the RSPCA shelter in Sheffield. At the time, I worked for the RSPCA and so Angus was able to come to work with me everyday, and soon, he became on of the most popular and well known characters in the office. A change of circumstances and, a change of job, meant that I could no longer take Angus to work. Although I only worked part-time to begin, Angus did not adjust well to periods of time being left alone and when my circumstances changed furthermore and I had to work full time, Angus really suffered.
After months of deliberating about what I could do to make life better for Angus, I felt that the fairest decision for him would be to rehome him. Making the decision was one thing, doing something about it was quite another. I didn't want to hand Angus over to a rescue Shelter and I didn't want to advertise him publicly, in the local press. I wanted him to go to loving caring home where his needs and would be met, and where his best interests would be at the heart of the family.
I came across the JRT website by chance, and it was a real positive turning point, for Angus.
For the next few weeks, Angus and I met many potential re-homers, and the interest in him was overwhelming. Families contacted me from as far apart as Norwich, London, Liverpool and Newcastle. We met some and ruled out others, on account of the fact that Angus was to put it mildly, a handful of mischief.
The minute that Alan and Emily walked through my front door, I knew Angus had found his forever family. It was hard to come to terms with initially, as the life they were offering Angus was better than I could ever have dreamed of, or hoped for. Not only were they experienced, dedicated JRT fans, but Angus would have a new playmate in the form of Amber, a female JRT almost exactly his age.
The night that Angus went to live in his new home was very sad, but at the same time joyous. I felt confident that Alan and Emily would give Angus the life he so badly deserved, and in retrospect they have exceeded all of my expectations.
To hear that Angus has enriched their lives, also, is a real bonus.
He really is a special and fantastic character and I know that through the dediecation and hard work that Alan and Emily have invested in Angus, his life has been turned around and he is much happier, more socialised and well behaved dog.
I miss Angus terribly, still have pictures of him all over the house and on my desk at work, but knowing he's happy takes the edge off the heartache.
If it wasn't for the JRT website, I wouldn't have met Alan and Emily, and ultimately Angus wouldn't be living the happy life that he is today.
Thanks so much.'
Debi
